Lena Sofie Thesing is a Master student at Essen University, Germany, where she studies to become an English and Philosophy teacher. Her studies have focused on social and cultural topics, particularly feminism, gender studies, and the power structures that shape society. She is especially interested in the historical development of these structures and the question of "why?", a question that continues to guide her studies and was deepened by her BA thesis on heteronormativity in EFL classrooms. By exploring how culture and society work from an international perspective in English studies and an ethical one in philosophy, she wants to deepen this focus during her Master's degree. She aims for a teaching career that promotes equity and fosters critical awareness of gender injustices, helping to build an educational system in which every student feels seen and welcomed.
